* These organisms are are unicellular.
* Usually found in extremely hot and moist areas. For example Yellow Stone National Park. 
* They are prokaryotes, so they do not have a nucleus. 
* The three main groups of archea are- methanogens, halophiles, and thermophiles.
* These bacteria appeared on earth at least 3.5 billion years ago.
* They have special cell walls and cell membrane chemistry. 
* They reproduce asexually. 
* They use their cilia that is located around their body to help them move. 
* They do not have any membrane bound organelles. 
* These bacteria are so unique that they have their own kingdom.
